The Leicester Hebrew Congregation has a beautiful orthodox Synagogue, built in 1898. It is the home and crown of the 'LHC' . The synagogue, with its own Mikvah, has always been the pivotal heart of the Jewish community.
The Grade 2 listed building has received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The school rooms have been transformed into a visitors’ center. Thousands of visitors visit the Synagogue each year and recive an education about the Jewish way of life. This promotes a greater understanding of Judaism in the multi-cultural city of Leicester.
The Leicester Hebrew congregation is affiliated to the United Synagogue.
There are weekly Shabbat services.
When there is a need for Kaddish to be recited, Minyanim for Marriv are arranged.
