Leicester’s beautiful orthodox Synagogue, built in 1898, is the home and crown of the Leicester Hebrew Congregation. The synagogue, with its own Mikvah, has always been the pivotal heart of the Jewish community.
The Grade 2 listed building has received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The school rooms is being transformed into a visitors’ centre, which will help educate and promote a greater understanding of Judaism in the multi-cultural city of Leicester.
The Leicester Hebrew congregation is affiliated to the United Synagogue.
We have weekly Shabbat services. When there is a need for Kaddish to be recited, Minyanim for Marriv are arranged.
